Hi guys,
So as promised this is my Rock Werchter post however I thought it'd be nice to also show you a few pictures of Jera On Air. So first I'll show you a little of JOA and then I'll tell you a little or a lotl about Rock Werchter!
Since we were volunteers we actually spend about 70% of the festival working but it was so worth it! We had a few barshifts aswell as a shift backstage (I spy with my little eye a wild Austin Carlile
Of Mice & Men's lead singer). We had so much fun working with such an amazing team!
Well that being utterly short here's what we've been up to at Rock Werchter.
We saw a lot of performances in the four days we spend there. The Hive, which was a special camping this year, was amazing and really well organised. It was utterly clean at the Hive as was the festival itself which was amazing. The line-up was to die for and we even got the chance to watch the game ned-cos (soccer) at the festival with Pearl Jam playing at the main stage which was pretty awesome. The weekend ended with fireworks and saying goodbye to the great people we went with. We ended up driving back home sundaynight and came home around 5am. We had an absolutely awesome and lovely weekend and hopefully if the line-up is as good as this year we might end up returning to Werchter next year.
On a thursday the weather was great and we saw
The Wombats,
Dropkick Murphys,
Bombay Bicycle Club,
White Lies,
Damon Albarn,
Metallica and we ended the night with about 30minutes of the
Skrillex set before heading to our tent.
The friday was mind blowing with the best being
Arctic Monkeys,
Paolo Nutini and
Jack Johnson. We also saw
The 1975,
The Naked and Famous,
Parov Stelar Band,
Ellie Goulding and about 5 minutes of
Major Lazer while leaving the festival.
Saturdays started cloudy but ended with rain, cold feet and poncho's! We watched
Twenty One Pilots,
Haim,
Biffy Clyro,
Triggerfinger,
The Black Keys and a tiny part of
Pearl Jam's three hour set after the match between the Netherlands and Costa Rica.
The last day, sunday, was nice at the start with sunshine and hardly any clouds but in the afternoon and early evening it was pooring rain like crazy. We ended up with soaked shoes being pretty cold but thankfully drove back home in a nice warm car. Performances we saw where
Angus and Julia Stone,
Foals,
Rudimental,
Bastille,
Franz Ferdinand,
Kings of Leon and it all ended with an awesome performance by
Stromae!
The biggest and best performances for me where Paolo Nutini, Twenty One Pilots and Bastille together on number one. Others I loved where The Wombats, Arctic Monkeys, Jack Johnson, Rudimental, Kings of Leon and Stromae which were all utterly great and amazing shows and I loved them.
The best ♥
Sleeping is allowed.. sort of haha
